So...it’s no secret and I don’t think I’m alone - but my thoughts on shoes have changed quite a bit over the past few months we’ve been stuck at home in quarantine.
I wouldn’t say I’ve been a ‘hypebeast’ for a good...oh...I dunno...15 years or so. I really haven’t kept up with most releases because there are just too many. I spent one too many nights in front of my computer during a release before I realized I had much, much more interesting things to do than ‘Add to Cart’. Before the pandemic, I wouldn’t say it was like ‘buy buy buy’, but it was definitely more like ‘ohh i like that, oooh i like this, ooh, i’m gonna grab that, ohh…’ Shiny things theory. I’d just grab crap because I could.
And now that my school year is effectively over and I’m mostly just chillin at home with my youngsters, I’ve got shoes in my closet I haven’t worn in literally 3 years. And it doesn’t feel all that ‘fun’ right now.
Anyway...about 6 weeks into the pandemic...April 29th to be exact...the fam and I took a mini jaunt down to the Hayward Shoreline and Wal-Mart to pick up some bleach and other pandemic supplies. We hiked for a while, then the kids fell asleep in the back seat so wifey went inside Dollar Tree to get some Jamaican food (#goldencrust patties FTW) and I finally got a bit of ‘me’ time to start scrolling through Twitter (which is rare). A few minutes in, I saw @benballer tweeted something about a baseball card being live and I decided to dive into the discussion. It was about the ‘Trout Baller’ card. If you know...you know. If you don’t, buckle up....
