If you missed on those @seancliver dunks the other day, you’ll be happy to know that near-perfect fakes have already hit the market (as of official release date).
The speed with which this stuff comes to market is nothing short of fascinating - makes me think there are not one but several people on the ‘inside’ procuring plans as the authentic factories get them. There was a time not all that long ago that it’d take a year or more for them to do an even passable job at some of these shoes. And this one looks pretty goddam good.
Kinda shocked I’m seeing all of these articles and influencers talking about this being the sneaker of the year. The snowflake pattern on the toebox is cool, the insole illustration is cool, the speckled sole is also cool. It’s a cool shoe. But...sneaker of the year?
I am definitely a bit perplexed as to how an almost 40-year-old silhouette can be considered the ‘shoe of the year’, but I suppose the definition of ‘shoe of the year’ could be better defined.
If we’re talking about using 40 year old silhouettes, I would think the Chunky Dunk or the Grateful Dead Dunk would be the sneaker of the year. Nothing new, nothing amazing - but these are the only shoes I’d say non-shoe-heads actually hit me up about. Definitely not *my* sneaker(s) of the year, but the one I’ll definitely remember when it’s all said and done.
If we’re talking about newly introduced in 2020 - the *new* sneaker of the year would probably be that Road Warrior thing (the ski boot looking thing with the split toe).
I dunno. Do you. I haven’t really thought about it, but if I spent a great deal of time thinking about it...my sneaker of the year would probably lose me a bunch of followers so I’ll sit back, keep my mouth shut and leave it at that…
Anyway...again...if you’re that hard up for it...
