thesneakersavant: Another frustrating @ebay experience…my first in a while…
Short version: graded some old shoes a 6.5/10, dude claimed they weren’t in the condition as described, eBay told me I had to give him a refund.
Had him send them back, and I get them back out of the sealed bag, missing the shoe trees and hang tag and obviously worn and damaged.
Called @ebaysneakers and they told me there’s simply nothing they could do for me. It’s a story if ‘he said she said’, apparently.
Never mind the fact that I’ve sold more than 1000 pairs of graded shoes on eBay over the course of the last 9 years.
Never mind the fact that the buyer had zero feedback and created his account to buy this pair of shoes.
I still struggle to understand why sellers get the short end of the stick when buyers get carte blanche to do whatever the hell they want.
Am I trippin too hard or should I just hold this $100 L? What would you do?
top comment: @ijapino One of the cons to eBay and unfortunately it’s a big one. It’s like their investigation process doesn’t actually have a live person looking at the details or evidence. Just by your before/after pics alone, you can clearly see there’s a difference. I’ve been in your shoes a couple times and I’ve found that if you stay persistent and keep trying to escalate the situation you’ll eventually speak to the right person who can make it happen. Good luck on the outcome!
thesneakersavant: Not sure if @goodbirger or @nicekicksvault posted this yet (am sure one of them did), but I probably missed it.
@kooth23tn sent me this ad of a Seve Ballesteros golf shoe from 1986 with a backwards swoosh…well before the Darwin and Flare and obviously the TS1.
Remember a few weeks ago when @dennisrodman made the claim that @travisscott bit his style? I’m no Travis apologist but BRUH…You bit YOUR style from Seve Ballesteros!!!
(Seriously tho this is a great iteration of the backwards swoosh…)
top comment: @ryanboehm_ totally forgot about the lebron x. can’t tell me people won’t be rocking those casually in the next decade
thesneakersavant: I’m not really mad at the idea of these…but to me it seems the execution is lacking. I’m not entirely sure of the logistics or requirements behind a reversible shoe and I’m certainly not a sneaker designer, but I feel like they could have done a better job with the… reversibility…?
IMO…they just don’t look like shoes. They look like a pair of shoes you’d build out of cardboard…or…cake…and they don’t look like they’d fulfill the basic obligation of a pair of shoes; which is to cover your feet.
Couldn’t they have like created a zip-off or button-off piece or a shroud or something so that no matter what your toes were always covered?
To me, these look like a half-assed effort for a very interesting idea. IMO…They should have just made a reversible slide if they were going to choose to always leave the toes exposed….what do y’all think?
top comment: @freehandprofit MSCHF is about disruption, so they once again achieved their goal. Do I want these? No. But I love that they’re doing things no one else is and in some ways they’re pointing out how silly and foolish we’ve let things become as consumers. It’s more conceptual art than it is fashion, but fashion allows more people access because they took art education out of schools.
thesneakersavant: The @crossroadstrading stores in San Jose have been nothing short of amazing for me. #iykyk I picked up some Paris sb dunks at one of their (2) locations back in 2010 for $26.50. And I picked up these early @theshoesurgeon Vans customs at the other for around $18. I was unsure of their authenticity until he himself messaged me offering to buy them from me (for $18 😂).
I haven’t gone much to either store in the past few years since having moved a few miles north, and I haven’t found much when I have made it in…but these/those two pairs will always be a couple of my biggest hits (and wildest sneaker stories).
top comment: @connected_pnw Lol $18 😂 … while dude is bankrolling… smh
4/15* BONUS (IG pulled this post down but they left it up on FB LOLOLOLOLOL):
thesneakersavant: Luxury saturdays...
I guess @dior picked a simple design on the AJ1 collab so they could easily apply it to other models.
FS: Super rare 1 of 1 AJ4 x Dior SAMPLE $75k OBO
