Alright y’all...so...the Dunk cards. Dunky Dunks. #DunkyDunks
I’ve been keeping these super low this time around as with the Kobe’s - I almost wrote a check my ass couldn’t cash. Shipping took WAY longer than I expected it to and I was losing my mind hoping I wouldn’t have to tell y’all it was gonna take an indeterminate amount of time. SO I wanted to make sure I had these all in hand before I started talking about them...it kinda helps that there’s no a ‘Dunk Day’ (like there was a ‘Kobe Day’ - at least in my head), but if there were a ‘Dunk Day’, I probably would have had way more wherewithal to get these done and in hand by a specific date.
I had to find a new supplier as the last one crapped out on me. It took a while and the communication barrier was pretty thick, we finally got it done. All cards are FINALLY in my possession…5 months after we started (better late than never, right)?
The other day, I let a couple of my best friends' kids (15 & 18 year old sneakerheads) open a box the other day and it was dope to watch them go meticulously through each card and talk with one another about which shoes (cards) they preferred. I gave them a few card savers and they were arguing over which cards to put them in...it was the first time during this pandemic I’ve been able to actually physically *watch* someone *open* a box and it was dope to witness.
As you can probably tell...the theme around this set is for the early dunksters...like Nike SB 1996-2005 or so. I covered as much as I could and told the best stories I could tell. Again, my heart went into this and I think (if you get your hands on a box), you’ll be able to see how personal this one is to me...Nike SB circa 2004-2005 is when I really started taking this whole ‘let’s collect sneakers’ thing really seriously.
Anyway - keep an eye out if you’re planning on purchasing. I’m working on getting the Shopify up and running here shortly and am working on getting digital versions of these cards in circulation...to be discussed shortly.
