After working on these cards for the past few months, I haven’t really done much physical grading.
With local businesses struggling to survive, Inventory has mostly dried up so I haven’t had all that much come in...
Anyway, I saw these the other day...on @depop …and was reminded, yet again, as to why ‘grading’ matters. I mean…look at these things. I purposefully increased the pic size so you couldn’t see what homie ‘graded’ these at (spoiler is on the last slide - don’t look before you gimme your best guess!). I tell you - with my grading algorithm the grade on these would most likely be less than HALF of what he graded them at. Completely beat uppers, suede totally faded, soles are filthy and missing probably 90% of the stars and the interior heel are ripped..This is exactly why the industry needs to adopt a benchmark for grading (and, yes, I’m the only one who built an app for grading)...
Post your grade in the comments...I’m gonna go with a 3.5 on these. IF I sat down and ran ‘em through the grader, we might see a 4, but I’ll say 3.5 to be safe. What do you think is fair?
